Drawing Constellation
Illustration
My most ambitious drawing project to date in terms of size. I worked on it from 2014 until 2021, setting from the beginning a few simple rules for myself: fill a large area with doodles using a black marker, avoid letters or numbers, stick with outlines rather than filled in shapes, and keep symbol sizes small.
I didn’t force myself to a deadline, which meant I worked on it when I felt like it. This turned out to be beneficial, because my motivations kept evolving: from figurative to abstract doodles, from right clusters to spreading things out, from aligned to scattered.
